The Saxonburg Area Library is seeking
self-motivated applicants for the position of Library
Director.
The Saxonburg Area Library is a member
of the Butler County Federated Library System. Saxonburg is
located approximately 30 miles north of Pittsburgh and 60
miles southwest of Clarion. The annual library budget is in
the range of $100,000 per year. We handle about 40,000
patron visits annually.
The Library Director reports to the
Board of Trustees. This individual is responsible for
managing all routine day-to-day activities associated with
operating the library. Additionally, those responsibilities
include everything related to the supervision and training
of staff and volunteers; all administrative functions; the
maintenance and upkeep of the building and grounds; and, the
safety and security of employees, patrons, assets and
physical property.
The Library Director is responsible
for the preparation of all required reports on their
scheduled basis. The ideal candidate must possess
proficient computer skills. He/she should have experience
with the Quicken and Microsoft Office Professional Suite of
programs. The Library Director will work closely with the
Board of Trustees with items related to grants and fund
raising activities.

A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in
Library Science (MLS or MLIS) from an ALA accredited
institution is required.
Salary and benefits will be negotiated
and commensurate with the candidate’s work experience.
