Meet the Staff and Trustees of the ZAPL

Introducing our staff:

Jan Lawrence - Jan is the Library Director. Jan has managed the library for seventeen years. She directs day-to-day operations at the library including supervising the staff, helping patrons, and developing our collection. Jan also represents the library within the Zelienople/Harmony community and sits on committees for the Library System of Butler County. Jan is a graduate of Clarion State University. She really loves libraries, books and people.

Kay Howard - Kay Howard is our Children's Librarian. She administers the Jennifer Adham Memorial Children's Library. She conducts story hours and the annual summer reading programs, purchases and catalogues new juvenile materials and conducts library tours for youth. She also plans special events throughout the year. Mrs. Howard is a resident of Lancaster Township and graduated from Slippery Rock University.

Amy Kellner - Amy is the Adult Services Librarian. Amy handles interlibrary loan requests, assists patrons with the internet and oversees the circulation desk. She also selects and processes new audio-visual materials and young adult books. Amy is a graduate of Geneva College.

Kate Steeb - Kate is our bookkeeper and secretary. She does all our
purchasing, keeps our statistics, and handles our memorial donations and our annual fund drive proceeds. Kate also processes our reserves and creates our shelf list.

Jan Barker - Jan #1 is the Librarian's Assistant. Jan inputs all materials
into our database, works at the circulation desk and notifies patrons of
reserves. She is also great at suggesting books to read.

Jolene Thompson - Jolene is our clerk and our newest staff member. She is currently pursuing her Master of Library Science Degree.

Meet our Trustees

Listed below are the members of the Library Board of Trustees. Our trustees come from several areas within the community. These people volunteer their time and talents to help maintain this library and their efforts are much appreciated. The board meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm.

Kathy Nelson has accepted the responsibility of President for the Board of Trustees this year. Kathy was appointed by the Board this year. She lives in Jackson Twp.

Maryann Bozich-DiLuigi is the Board Vice President. Maryann represents
Jackson Township on our Board.

Dan Allen remains our Treasurer. Dan was appointed a trustee by the Board.

Karen Sharrar has returned to the Board to represent Harmony Borough. Karen is serving as Board Secretary this year.

Don Reed is a resident of Zelienople Borough is on the Library's Building and Property Committee.

Alice Lee Paul is a long-time member of our Board of Trustees and represents the Travelers Club on our board.

Jill Stedina and Don Pepe share the representation for Zelienople Borough Council.

March Creeks was appointed by the Board for 2006-2008 and is on our
programming committee.

Meg Lope represents the Community Chest on our Board.

Debie Carbeau is our newest board member.

The staff and trustees also would like to take this opportunity to thank our crew of loyal volunteers for their help in shelving and various other
endeavors. We could not do without our wonderful group of adult and junior volunteers.
