Programs and Events

mother goose reading

Welcome to STORY TIME at Prospect Community Library!  Each week, Miss Jill  creates a program of stories, songs, and movement activities. These are designed to help parents learn to foster and engage the early literacy skills needed to prepare their child(ren) to read. Story times help to develop a love of reading and a greater appreciation for the diversity of words which make up language. Story time is a listening time but also offers opportunities and an atmosphere which encourages children to learn and to imagine in a participatory fashion. Story times are positive times and create a positive attitude towards books, words, listening, reading and the library!
