Library Cards
Library cards are free to residents
of Butler County. Please be
prepared to show a valid
Pennsylvania driver’s
license, or other appropriate
identification and proof of
residency,
when applying for a card.
Individuals who are under the age of
18 must have a parent or guardian’s
signature to obtain
a library card.
A
library card issued at any of the
eight public libraries within the
Butler County Federated
Library System is valid for
use throughout the county.
Materials can be checked out from
and returned to the library
that is most convenient for you.
Lost
library cards can be replaced for a
fee of $2.50.
Circulation Limits
A
maximum of 25 items may be checked
out on one library card at a time.
During
the Summer Reading Program, a
maximum of 5 books per child may be
checked out
at one time.
Circulation Periods
Books
and audio books: 2 weeks
Magazines: 1 week
DVDs
and videos: $1.00 for 3 days
Reference materials: Do not
circulate.
Renewals
Items
that are not on hold for another
patron can be renewed for two
weeks.
To
request a renewal, call the library
at (724)625-9048, visit us in
person, or login to your
account on our website. To
renew materials online, you will
need a PIN number, which is the
last four digits of your
library barcode number.
Fines for Overdue Materials
$0.25
per day for books, audio books, and
magazines.
$1.00
per day for DVDs and videos
