Meeting Room Policy
CRANBERRY PUBLIC LIBRARY
I.
Fees
A. Resident non-profit, educational, or
community service groups will deposit $25.00 which
the Librarian will return if meeting room is
undamaged. The deposit will be forfeited if room is
not left in good condition. Groups forfeiting
deposit must make another deposit prior to any
future meeting.
B. Resident non-profit, educational, or
community service groups will be charged no
additional fee unless there is a charge for their
program. In that case they will pay the same fee as
resident profit-making groups.
C. Non-resident non-profit, educational
or community service groups will be charged $25.00
an hour for the use of the room unless there is a
charge for their program in which case they will pay
the same fee as non-resident profit-making groups.
D. Resident profit-making groups will
pay $30 an hour. Non-resident profit-making groups
will pay $40 an hour. No direct sales may be made
in the library.

II.
Scheduling
A. Groups will be accepted on a
first-come, first served basis. The meeting room
will be available on days the library is open.
B. Groups will complete an application
for use of the meeting room.
C. The meeting room cannot be scheduled
more than 30 days in advance.
D. Preference will be given to library
programs.
E. The library meeting room will not be
scheduled for social purposes.
F. Preference will be given to meetings
open to the public.
G. Preference will be given to
non-profit, educational, or community service
groups.
H. The rooms may be used by
profit-making groups for educational purposes.
I. Use of the room by groups and
individuals shall be at the discretion of the
Library Director and the Board of Trustees of the
Library.
III. General Use
A. Groups will assume responsibility
for set-up, clean-up, and any damage to library
property. Clean-up is to include vacuuming and
removal of garbage and refuse to containers located
outside the building.
B. Groups will report any damage to the
Librarian and emergencies should be reported
immediately.
C. Light refreshments may be served but
no cooking is permitted. Groups must provide their
own dish towels and soap.
D. Key pickup can be made during the
regular library hours the day of the event. The
meeting room should be locked and the key placed in
the bookdrop after the meeting.
E. Audiovisual equipment is available
but must be reserved in advance. Furnishings may
not be moved from the public service area to theea to the
meeting room. No additional
furniture or equipment other than that furnished by
the library is to be used without library approval.approval.approval.approval.
IV.
Restrictions
A. Groups may not exceed the room
capacity of 50 persons.
B. Groups will not serve alcoholic
beverages on library premises.
C. Groups will not use cigarettes or
other tobacco products (except outdoors) on library
premises.
D. Illegal gambling is prohibited in
the building or on the grounds.
E. Groups activities involving more
than normal wear and tear on meeting room will not
be permitted. For example, classes in handicraft
projects involving paint or other materials will not
be permitted.
F. Nothing may be affixed to the walls
or ceiling.
G. Library will not be responsible for
the loss or theft of any personal property.
H. Loud noise and/or music will not be
permitted to disturb library operations.
V.
The library proper is not available for use by
outside organizations.
